Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence S01

When Major Motoko Kusanagi goes missing, Batou is assigned from Section 9 to investigate a string of gruesome murders that seem to be the work of malfunctioning gynoids or sex robots. But when a malfunctioning gynoid leaves Batou a cryptic message, he begins to question the reason for their malfunctions. Suspicions of political motives behind the killings and tracking down an illegal ghost lead Batou and his partner Togusa into a complex web of conspiracies. As they delve deeper into their investigation, the line between man and machine becomes increasingly blurred and reality and fantasy become indistinguishable. They encounter strange and dangerous enemies and navigate a futuristic world filled with machines and lifelike dolls devoid of humanity.
